Texture, Detail, Pattern
I’ve had this idea in the back of my head for a few days and I wanted to act on it. For some reason, Ive had this urge to take out my macro lens and shoot some macro shots. So today I grabbed my camera and the afore mentioned lens and headed out to a local park to see what I could see.
The bleakness of the winter days and bare branches of trees and bushes gave me an idea. I could see using black and white processing and making use of my macro lens’s superb bokeh (a Canon 100mm Macro - the original one, not the newer one) as a way to create a set of abstract photos.
So that’s what I did.
I set out to search for details, which when viewed up close, could almost look like an alien world. The organic lines and shapes in high contrast monochrome are in my mind, like an ink painting. Or at least that’s what I was going for.
I shot these with my original Canon 5D and processed into black and white in Lightroom using my own Street LUX presets. Enjoy.
